One of my later latest endeavours in the amateur music area is a very unique orchestra called "Det ny Tonefilmsorkester", or
translated into english: The new Soundfilm Orchestra. It was founded in 1998 by students from the
Musicology institute at the University of Copenhagen and
consists of about 35 people.
The orchestra specializes in music from films and musicals, mainly Danish pieces from older movies, but also relatively new
music in themed concerts. All arrangements are made specially for the orchestra by members and other young arrangers.
Though fun to play in, this orchestra unfortunately takes a lot of spare time in weekends and around hollidays. There isn't
much room left for other activities nor flexibility from the management which makes it very difficult to play and have a
normal family life at the same time. Too bad, it was fun while it lasted.
