MusicCubeOne - Documentation

Welcome to the online documentation for MusicCubeOne Version 1.4. This is intended as a quick guide through the application, showing the main features and how to operate the player using either the mouse or the keyboard.

The main player window is the first to appear when the application is started. That will look similar to the illustration below:

Display showing current and total tracks in playlist, elapsed/remaining time, track and album title.
Spectrum analyzer with configurable bars and peaks.
Player controls for volume, previous track, next track and toggle between playing and paused.

Except for the three button visible in the lower area of the window, all control of the player is done through the main popup menu. This is accessed by clicking the right mouse button in the gray window area next to the buttons or on the edge of the window. The main menu contains the following commands:

The playlist

Files can be added to the player in two ways: Using the "Open files" command in the popup menu or by dragging files from Windows onto the main window. When dragging files, they will by default replace the current playlist. Press and hold the control key while dropping the files to append the music to the current playlist instead.

All the files present in the current playlist can be viewed by switching to the playlist view using the "Playlist" command in the menu. The window will change appearance similar to the illustration below:

List with all items in the playlist. The first line shows track title, album, artist and total time. The second line shows the full path and filename.
The currently playing track is indicated with a node symbol.
Player controls for volume, previous track, next track and toggle between playing and paused.

The list have a number of uses, first of which is to give an detailed overview of the music opened in the player. Each item in the list can be selected, eiter by clicking the mouse or using the arrow keys on the keyboard. Double clicking with the mouse or pressing Enter will make the player jump to the selected track.

The playlist has its own popup menu with some commands from the main popup menu and additional commands for controlling the appearance of the list, selecting which information to display. The playlist menu contains the following commands:
